Soutache Statement Ring in Polymer Clay

Many years ago, I learned how to make origami and the possibility of turning sheets of colored paper into something three-dimensional made me excited. Every little piece of paper that crossed my path, turned into a swan, a little box or a frog.

And, little by little, I reduced the scale of my folding, challenging myself. And when my fingers got too big to fold precisely, I started using tweezers to reproduce micro origami.

And that's the memory I recalled to build this statement ring - the challenge would be to reduce the scale of the soutache inspired statement pendants. I stayed true to the color palette, recreated the proportions of the ribbons and slowly built this beauty, and this miniature pendant, became a fabulous statement ring, handcrafted in Polymer Clay.
