Soutache Pentant Polymer Week 2023

It's been a while since I last sat on my workbench... a strange inflammation, probably caused by the low temperatures, affected the tip of my fingers, keeping me away from work for almost 2 months now. I am almost ready to touch clay again, but it hasn't been easy...
Most of you probably know that I love what I do and the fact that I had just started my business here in Vienna and suddenly had to stop, crushed me a bit.💔
But, once I was out of the thunderstorm, I started doing some reflections about it - and, yes, therapy too - and got to see how this ups and downs of life resonate in my work.
The necklace in the photos is my latest creation. It was finished in October, a day before going to Pilsen.
An oversized pendant, handmade in Polymer Clay using the soutache technique as inspiration.
It's been sitting on my table for a while, and today I stopped to admire its curves, lines, swirls, colours... the ends and the beginnings... it was such a gentle reminder that life is not linear, and its uncertainty is... just part of the game. 🧡💐
**This pendant was made for an exhibition during Polymer Week 2023, where all participants were invited to showcase "their best creation", a piece that reflects our unique artistic style.
It was ready on the eve of my trip.
Polymer clay necklace and soft yarn made from textile waste.
