Explore colour, texture and design while creating your own polymer clay earrings at this beginner-friendly jewellery workshop in Vienna.

The Earrings Lab is an open creative experience where you can experiment with polymer clay and turn your own ideas into up to four pairs of unique, ready-to-wear earrings.

Unlike a technique-based class, this workshop gives you the freedom to explore different colours, shapes, textures and tools. You can arrive with a design in mind or simply play with the material and see where the creative process takes you.

No previous experience is needed. You will receive practical, step-by-step guidance throughout the workshop while still having plenty of freedom to develop your own style.

Create Your Own Polymer Clay Earrings

During this hands-on polymer clay workshop in Vienna, you will learn the essential steps involved in designing and making your own earrings from scratch.

You will choose your colour palette, explore different tools and surface effects, and create individual polymer clay elements that can be combined into your final designs.

You will learn how to:

• Condition polymer clay and mix your own colours

• Work with cutters, rollers and professional jewellery-making tools

• Explore textures, pigments and surface effects

• Shape and combine different polymer clay elements 

• Cure your completed pieces 

• Assemble your earrings 

You can create up to four pairs of earrings that reflect your personality and individual style.

Your creations will normally be baked on-site so you can take them home on the same day. If additional curing or finishing time is required, your earrings can be collected later or delivered for an additional €5.

Meet Your Tutor

I’m Roberta Modulo, the Brazilian artist and jewellery maker behind Nikah Costa. I have been making jewellery for more than twenty years and now host colourful, beginner-friendly polymer clay workshops in Vienna.

I have taught classes, tutorials and online symposiums. In 2025, I also joined the Design and Technology Department at the University of Arts Linz for a summer-semester project, teaching students how to work creatively with polymer clay.

My workshops combine practical artist guidance with a relaxed and playful atmosphere. You will have the support you need to understand the material while still having the creative freedom to experiment and make something that feels genuinely yours.

Is The Earrings Lab suitable for beginners?

Yes. The workshop is completely beginner-friendly and no previous jewellery-making or polymer clay experience is required. I will explain and demonstrate the essential steps and support you throughout the creative process.

Is the workshop held in English?

Yes. The workshop is held in English. Support in Portuguese is also available when needed.

How many pairs of earrings can I make?

You can create up to four pairs of polymer clay earrings during the workshop. The exact number will depend on the complexity of your designs and your working pace.

Will I make the polymer clay pieces from scratch?

Yes. You will work directly with polymer clay and create your own colours, shapes, textures and design elements before assembling them into earrings.

Do I need to bring a design idea?

No. You are welcome to bring ideas or inspiration, but this is not required. You can experiment with the available colours, tools and materials and develop your designs during the workshop.

Can I request a particular colour?

Yes. If there is a specific colour you would like to use, let me know in advance and I will do my best to have it available.

I don’t have pierced ears. Can I make clip-on earrings?

Yes. Clip-on options are available. Please mention this when booking so the appropriate materials can be prepared.

What are the earring posts made of?

The workshop includes up to four pairs of stainless steel earring posts.

Can I take my earrings home on the same day?

Your earrings will be baked on-site and will normally be ready to take home on the same day. If your designs require additional baking or finishing time, they can be collected later or delivered for an additional €5.

Are snacks and drinks included?

Yes. Light snacks and tea are included in your workshop ticket.

Can I book The Earrings Lab for a private group?

Yes. The workshop is available for birthdays, bachelorette parties, team gatherings, company events and other private occasions in Vienna.

Workshop Cancellation Policy

If you cancel between 14 and 8 days before the workshop, you will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made 7 days or fewer before the workshop are not refundable.

A minimum of six participants is required. If this number is not reached one week before the workshop, the event may be cancelled. All purchased tickets will then be refunded and participants will be informed.
