Create Your Own Terrazzo-Inspired Earrings

Terrazzo is known for its playful pattern of small, colourful fragments scattered across a contrasting background. In this hands-on polymer clay workshop, you will recreate this effect using FIMO polymer clay and transform your design into wearable earrings.

After a demonstration, you will select your colour palette and experiment with different combinations. You can create a subtle, coordinated pattern or a bold mix of contrasting colours. The final design is yours.

You will receive step-by-step guidance throughout the process, with plenty of space to explore the material and develop your own style.

What You Will Learn

During the workshop, you will learn how to:

• Condition polymer clay correctly

• Mix colours and create your own palette

• Prepare colourful clay fragments for the terrazzo effect

• Arrange the fragments and create a custom polymer clay slab

• Roll the slab evenly and add surface texture

• Cut and shape your earring pieces

• Prepare the pieces for curing

• Finish and assemble your earrings

Your pieces will be baked on-site so you can normally take them home on the same day. If additional baking or finishing time is required, they can be collected later or delivered for an additional €5.

Meet Your Tutor

I’m Roberta Modulo, the Brazilian artist and jewellery maker behind Nikah Costa. I have been making jewellery for more than twenty years and now host colourful, beginner-friendly polymer clay workshops in Vienna.

I have taught classes, tutorials and online symposiums. I also joined the Design and Technology Department at the University of Arts Linz for a summer-semester project, helping students explore the creative possibilities of polymer clay.

My workshops combine practical artist guidance with a relaxed and playful atmosphere. You will learn the technique while still having the freedom to experiment and make something that feels genuinely yours.

Is the terrazzo earrings workshop suitable for beginners?

Yes. No previous jewellery-making or polymer clay experience is required. I will demonstrate each step and support you throughout the process.

Is the workshop held in English?

Yes. The workshop is held in English. Support in Portuguese is also available when needed.

What is the terrazzo technique in polymer clay?

Small pieces of coloured polymer clay are arranged on a contrasting polymer clay base to create a scattered pattern inspired by terrazzo surfaces. The slab is then rolled, cut and transformed into earrings.

Will I make the polymer clay pieces from scratch?

Yes. You will condition the clay, create the terrazzo pattern, cut your chosen shapes, cure the pieces and assemble your earrings.

How many pairs of earrings can I make?

The workshop includes four pairs of stainless steel earring posts. The number of finished pairs may depend on the complexity of your designs and your working pace. Additional pairs are available for €15 each.

I don’t have pierced ears. Can I make clip-on earrings?

Yes. Clip-on options are available. Please mention this when booking so the correct materials can be prepared.

Can I choose my own colours and earring shapes?

Yes. You will choose your colour palette and can select from a variety of available cutters and shapes.

Can I request a specific colour?

Yes. Let me know before the workshop and I will do my best to have the colour available.

Can I take my earrings home on the same day?

Yes, your earrings will normally be baked and finished on-site. If they need additional baking or finishing time, they can be collected later or delivered for an additional €5.

Can the workshop be booked for a private group?

Yes. It is available for birthdays, bachelorette parties, team gatherings, company events and other private occasions in Vienna.

Workshop Cancellation Policy

If you cancel between 14 and 8 days before the workshop, you will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made 7 days or fewer before the workshop are not refundable.

A minimum of six participants is required. If this number is not reached one week before the workshop, the event may be cancelled. All purchased tickets will then be refunded and participants will be informed.
